Předvádějí se tak už počtvrté… Za sebe musím říct, že se mi líbil první hraný Asterix z roku 1999, ale neviděl jsem ani jedno z jeho prvních dvou pokračování a podle zvěstí jsem o mnoho nepřišel. Zpráva o adaptaci mého oblíbeného britského dobrodružství mi nedala spát. Když spršku absolutně infantilního humoru přeruší „nevinná“ výzva k orgiím a pop-kulturní reference vzpomenou na tu nejotřepanější hlášku z Hvězdných válek, vzdají se i ti nejodolnější z nás a prostě se snaží využít každičkého zbytku své dětinskosti, aby se nejenom uvolnili, ale také pobavili, bez ohledu na to, jak dobrou polovinu skečů zapomenou a tu vtipnější část patrně viděli někde jinde v lepší verzi. V prvním filmu totiž dnes již zesnulý scénárista Gerárd Lauzier přistupoval k látce jako jediný inteligentně – příběh byl sestaven z několika různých Asterixových komiksů a druh humoru byl předloze daleko věrnější. Sequely postupují úplně jinak – krom jiného jsou tu slavné „etnické anachronismy“ ještě několikrát znásobeny viz karikatura britské královny a autoři čerpají inspiraci jen z pár sešitů. K natažení děje připojili absolutně nesouvisející komiks „Asterix a Normané“ a výsledek je horší, než by se dalo čekat. Postavy v jisté sekvenci pobíhají z místa na místo, aby vyřešili subplot, který na britský konflikt nemá vůbec vliv a k hlavním hrdinům je kvůli tomu neuměle nalepen zbabělý Gal jménem Zničehonix Vincent Lacoste. Aby to dávalo aspoň nějaký smysl, dostalo se do filmu i pár propletených milostných vztahů dobrá, normanská linie vás občas docela rozesměje bez ohledu na to, že zde nemá co dělat. A už vůbec nemělo smysl dosazovat mezi Asterixe Edouard Bear a Obelixe Gérard Depardieu nějaký konflikt, ten se prostě objeví a zase zmizí. Nejhumornější postavou tu vlastně nejsou ani tak Galové nebo Britonové, nýbrž Julius Caesar Fabrice Luchini a navzdory možným podezřením z rasismu dokáže občas osvěžit přítomnost komického cizince Škrabopise Atmen Kelif. Dobrá zpráva, rodičové! Máme tu další grotesku, kterou nadchnete vaše nejmenší, zatímco co vy ji můžete vypustit z hlavy. Podstoupíte tuto oběť?
